Family Support Worker/Pupil Admissions and Induction Mentor

Salary range: GRADE E, Pay Points 17-20 (£17772-£19430 pro rata)
30 hours per week (10.30am-5.00pm Monday to Friday), 38 weeks per year – permanent

To start as soon as possible                                  

We wish to appoint a Family Support Worker /Pupil Admissions and Induction Mentor, to work closely with the teachers and Inclusion Team to a) lead the induction and mentoring of new pupils to the school and b) engage with our families and support agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of working with pupils of primary school age
  • A sound understanding of child development, and the impact of parenting and life events
  • Knowledge of the barriers to learning faced by disadvantaged children and those with SEN and EAL
  • Experience of building effective relationships with families and a wide range of support agencies to achieve the best possible social, emotional and educational outcomes for the pupils
  • Experience of applying policies and practices associated with safeguarding and equality of opportunity
  • Excellent organisational, communication and administration skills
