You will:

  • Take specific responsibility and accountability for the teaching and learning of oracy and writing across the school.
  • Be an exemplary teacher of English, acting as a professional model to colleagues and learners, securing consistently high standards and rapid progress in oracy and writing across the school.
  • Establish and lead a small team to champion and support the development of writing and a culture of oracy across the school to ensure that planning and classroom practice, provides work that consistently matches pupils’ needs, abilities and interests
  • Collaborate with senior colleagues (as a member of the school’s Extended Leadership Team - ELT) to support and improve the quality of teaching and raising standards within the school
  • Support and implement the vision and ethos of the school as a member of ELT.

Lesson observations will take place following shortlisting in candidate schools on

Tuesday 2nd October 2018. This will be arranged by Academicis, the candidate and the current Headteacher/Principal.

Location:      Ipswich, Suffolk (close to rail links to London, Norwich and Cambridge)                                            Salary:          Leadership Pay Scale L1-L5 (£39374 - £43454)
Job Type:      Full Time, Maternity Leave.  Appropriate for fixed term secondment if supported by current Headteacher
